Kimko House

01
Context
Kimko House is a private retreat residence conceived as an extension of the Japanese landscape that surrounds it. Wide concrete slabs and broad warm timber planes project over a still lake, its surface reflecting cherry blossoms and morning mist. The architecture speaks the language of the place — restrained, horizontal, deeply present.
02
Visual Direction
The rooms open fully to the stone garden and water through floor-to-ceiling glazed walls that disappear in the warm months. Stone lanterns, dwarf pines, and raked gravel define a gradual transition between building and nature — a garden that is also threshold, a silence that is also welcome.
