Context

Villa Cipresso is a private residence set within a sun-drenched inland hillside, where rows of cypress and ancient olive trees define a landscape that has barely changed in centuries. The house is built from warm limestone — the same stone as the terraced hillside beneath it — and topped with wide planes of warm timber that extend outward to shade the pool terrace below.

Visual Direction

The pool is the heart of outdoor life here: a mirror of still water facing the panorama of rolling hills, its surface catching the morning mist that rises from the valley each dawn. The interiors are directly connected to this outdoor world through full-height glazed walls that disappear entirely in summer, transforming the house into an extended landscape pavilion.
